GRADED TECHNIQUE (Grades 5 and up)
The Tamara Howe School of Dance is dedicated to providing excellence in technique, positive role models and opportunities to give back to the community. With 3 levels of technique classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Pointe, THSD has a class to fit your level and schedule.

Level 3, 4 & 5 Ballet, Tap, Jazz
These classes are for dancers age 10 and up who love to dance.
Classes available include Ballet, Tap, Jazz Levels 3-5

Advancement is based on correct placement, skill mastery, and instructor recommendation-not by age-which means all classes have a variety of age levels. Students spend an average of two - three years at each level before mastering the skills to advance. Students receive annual skills tests in class.

Pointe & Pre-Pointe
Pre-Pointe is for students in Junior Company/Level 2-3 and Higher.
*Pointe technique has been included in our ballet technique classes. Pointe dancers should register for 2 graded technique ballet classes.
*Pre-Pointe dancers must enroll in two leveled ballet technique classes. There is not a separate class, just two seperate ballet classes beginning at Level 3 ballet.
*Dancers are not required to dance en pointe to take ballet technique.
Pointe Placement
Most dancers spend an average of 1-2 years in pre-pointe training technique.
For safety reasons, enrollment in this class does not guarantee earning pointe shoes. Not all students’ feet are naturally adept to dancing en pointe, and it is therefore not safe for all students. Instructors determine pointe placement.
