Dear Valued Parents and Students of the Tamara Howe School of Dance,

At the Tamara Howe School of Dance, the health and safety of our faculty and students are our most important priorities. As COVID-19 continues to spread and affect many parts of the U.S., we have been closely monitoring local conditions. With the closing of all Kansas schools per the KDE, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our faculty and families to temporarily suspend all classes. Effective March 16th, 2020, the studio will be closed at least until March 22nd, 2020. At that time we will reevaluate our class suspensions.

While we won’t be physically in the studio together, our team is currently working to provide you with service continuity in a new and exciting way for your children. Our team is rising to the challenges we are facing so we can continue to provide a dance education to the students that we care for during these challenging times.

In the meantime, showcase and competition dates remain unchanged. We will continue to monitor the situation, and should emergency directions be issued, we will update you accordingly.

We are currently in uncharted waters and have found ourselves in a new normal for the time being. We are committed to offering the best customer service and dance experience you expect from THSD.

I thank you for your support during this time. As a small business, your continued dedication to continue to provide your child with invaluable life skills through dance ensures that we can continue to do the work that we do for children in our community. We appreciate that you all are More Than Just Great Dancing! #thsdkeepdancing

Tamara Howe

IN CLOSING:
- If you have a small business, let me know how we can support you.
- If you need babysitters, we have an army of suddenly-available teens who could teach them some sweet dance moves (better than Snapchatting all day:).
- If you know someone who depends on schools for breakfast and lunch or an elderly person who needs supplies please DM me. We will do what we can to stand in the gap.

FORWARD, TOGETHER.

Please share with anyone whom this may benefit.

Hello Dance Families!

At the Tamara Howe School of Dance,  we take care each day to keep faculty healthy and safe in our studio including best practices for hygiene and wellness.

While COVID-19 is prominent in the news, the KS Department of Health and Environment states that the risk remains low in KS. People should live their lives normally and go about their normal activities. Advice for prevention is the same as an ordinary cold and flu season. Take normal precautions against this and all types of infection by washing hands for 20 seconds, covering coughs into elbows, and staying home when sick.

The following child-friendly communication about keeping everyone healthy in our community has been posted in each studio, as well as the lobby and bathrooms. Additional studio cleanings and disinfecting rotations were implemented at the end of February as well.

THSD is committed to continuing to play a proactive role to support and encourage community health, especially for our kids and faculty.

We will update you if anything changes regarding schedules and classes. In the meantime, we thank you for your support in this challenging time.

In partnership,
Tamara Howe
